Data Recording
Capturing:
With Olfish-DDL, the user can capture and report any type of data in the form of images, video clips, numerical and alphanumeric fields, free hand comments, date, time, location, etc. Each mode of data entry has its own unique data entry interface specifically designed for the type of data recorded. All information is stored on board the vessel and is made ready to be transmitted in many types and formats.

Management:
Olfish-DDL uses a hybrid approach towards data storage. Active fishing trip data is saved as XML files before being saved into the software database for long term storage and complex analysis. The database structure is synchronised dynamically with the XML file structure and the configuration files and as such allows for “on the fly” addition of new fields and/or lookup values. Vessel information can be exported to the shore master database while, shore customisation and configuration information can be exported to the onboard vessel system.
Mapping:
Olfish-DDL contains a GIS Utility for the mapping of vessel movement and fishing activity in real-time. The ships GPS co-ordinates are fed live from a GPS logger utility and the position is displayed on a map of the world. The ships movement is recorded on the map by a dotted line, and any fishing activity is recorded with a solid red line.
