| Olfish is a multi-fisheries, multi-species, generic but still highly customisable software product. It was specifically designed to address the complex data collection and reporting requirements of modern fishing operations. All Olfish components are fully integrated to create a user-friendly data management system to be used on the vessel bridge and/or the vessel processing area or the fishing deck to collect and transmit fishing data in real time. |

Bridge Console
This is a real-time interface which provides the user with an easy-to-use interface to capture vessel activities and observations as they happen. These operations include starting and ending a vessel’s trip, fishing and non-fishing activities and adding environmental, marine life, debris and other observations. |
Data Centre
This is the central interface of the software where the user can record, edit, and view vessel activity data. Activities include fishing operations, non-fishing operations and observations of the environment and other phenomena around the vessel. Data can be entered in both real-time and historical modes. |
Catch Reporting Module
Catch data can be recorded at a high resolution on a fish by fish basis, when required and/or in set, day or trip summarised form. It can be recorded at very basic levels or in detail i.e. unlimited number of species, products, grades, storage and packing methods. It can also record any environmental, biological and operational information. |
Customisation
The Customisation component provides an interface to all the customisable items (reference data), and is used to customise each version to the user’s specific requirements. Predefined data lists such as species, products, fishing areas and grades are populated with this component. |
Traceability & Web Access
A tracing module tracks packed product from vessel to the next link in the traceability chain - be it processor, buyer or retail point. |
Report Centre
The Reporting tools are able to produce any type of report dynamically. Compressed, encrypted and digitally signed, as required they can be transmitted using vessel SatCom systems to the shore unit or in many formats (ASCII, HTML. Excel) to third party databases using sophisticated XML reporting tools. |
GIS Mapping
A built-in digital Mapper enables users to plot and observe all fishing activities on a map-like interface. Mapper can be used to present and analyse any captured data on spatial charts. |
Fishing Consultant
A unique catch predictor enables skippers to consult the Olfish database before starting a fishing trip for suggested fishing areas to target. The sophisticated mathematical module “guesses” where catch rate of targeted species are likely to be high based on current environmental conditions and previously stored catch and environmental data. |
Fleet Activity Optimiser
It helps a fleet manager to setup vessel operating schedules. It indicates which vessels should optimally be fishing, when, where, and for how long . An optimisation algorithm is used to determine a quantitative measure of how effective different schedules are in terms of catch demand, cost efficiency, time and resource management. |

Utilities
Not just another “dumb” data container, Olfish has a wealth of built-in utilities with the aim of making data stored in Olfish easily accessible, and usable. |
