Electronic Reporting

Compile and send fishing reports in real time or post event-mode to any type of permitted data recipients. Reports can be generated by a triggered event, date/time signal or manually by the user as required. Reports can be saved, viewed, edited and re-sent.
Report Types
OLRAC-DDL can also compile reports required by commercial fishing companies for their own internal use. Additionally, it can be used by all other authorised data recipients such as scientists, compliance agencies, commercial users, fish markets, observers, program managers, etc.
Additionally. OLRAC-DDL can be used to capture data and report on any vessel/marine activity other than actual fishing, such as environmental, chemical or physical marine surveys.
Report Output
OLRAC-DDL is highly customizable and can be easily modified to address vastly different data recording and reporting needs. OLRAC-DLL output (reports) can be in the form of normal text, XML, CSV, PDF, HTML, BMP or even formal logsheets, as may be required by compliance authorities. Data can also be provided in the form of SQL scripts (with embedded data) that load the data into the third party database directly.

Compliance
OLRAC-DDL includes an administrative module for the creation and mailing of predefined reports. These include agency compliance reports as defined by: European Union (EC 1966/2006, EC 1566/2007, EC 1077/2008 and EC 409/2009), Australian Fisheries Management Agency (AFMA), Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). In addition, OLRAC is working with many management agencies in the USA such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) the Environmental Defence Fund (EDF) the Atlantic Offshore Lobstemen Association (AOLA), Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI), Ocean Conservancy (TOC), the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and many other fishing organisations regarding the introduction of fishery-Elog technology to the USA.
Transmitting Reports and System Communication
Fishing reports can be transmitted to a third party in a variety of ways, such as email attachments, embedded text in an email text box, saved files on any mobile storage device or via secured, dedicated FTP or HTTPS connections.
OLRAC-DDL has been tested to work with virtually any Iridium and Inmarsat based communication and VMS systems. Examples are: Boatracs, Skymate, NetMailer, Thrane&Tharne (easymail), BlueTraker, Watchdog and others. OLRAC-DDL can also send uu-encoding reports via older Inmarsat-C systems. Integration with any other VMS systems are possible, given access to communication protocols used. It can also use its own, OLRAC-MailPuller internal mailing component that can bypass, in some cases, the need to use the VMS communication software (e.g. current Inmarsat-B systems). OLRAC-DDL can also make use of the VMS’ GPS receiver instead of OLRAC-DDL’s dedicated GPS receiver if so wished by the client.
Electronic Report Security
OLRAC-DDL deploys an end-to-end transmission protocol that allows users to transmit secure XML reports, using X.509 digital certificates and W3C XML security standards. XML reports can be signed using XML signatures and encrypted using hybrid XML encryption prior to transmission
Analytical Reporting Tools
OLRAC-DDL has 2 reporting tools:
- Mini-Reporter - for extracting basic statistics from recorded data.
- OLRAC-Explorer - for mapping and charting of data according to different criteria.
