Fishing ReportsOlfish-DDL can compile fishing reports required by commercial fishing companies for their own internal use or by other authorised data recipients such as:scientists, compliance agencies, commercial users, fish markets, observers, program managers and more. Fishing reports and files can be directly sent to eligible third-party data recipients and then directly imported into third-party databases. This can only be done if the data fields required for the fishing reports and databases are captured with the Olfish-DDL and at the level of resolution required. Therefore, part of the initial data modelling process undergone by the client and Olfish-DDL includes identifying all the fields that must be provided to eligible third parties. Olfish-DDL can provide output in a generic XML or CSV format, or can comply with existing fishery/compliance formats, provided that data description documents or XML schemas are supplied to Olfish-DDL during the data modelling process. In addition, the DLL can generate output reports as PDF, HTML, BMP files or even as formal logsheets as may be required by the compliance authorities. ![]() Fishing reports can be generated by a triggered event, date/time signal or manually by the user as required. Reports can be saved, viewed, edited and resent. The user can view the reports in HTML / XML or in an encrypted view before sending them. Fishing reports can be generated to exactly match the data structures of third party databases. Depending on the level of information which will have been received regarding the third party database, it can generate XML reports or even data in the form of SQL scripts (with embedded data) that load the data into the third party database directly, with no transformation required. Olfish-DDL can also output its reports in the same format as that used by other data providers,if details of this format are available and can be used by other software vendors. There is a variety of means by which reports can be transferred from Olfish-DDL installations to third party servers, such as email attachments, embedded text in email text box, or saved files on any mobile storage container. Olfish-DDL can also send data via a secured, dedicated FTP port if this is the preferred or required transfer mechanism. Olfish-DDL can use virtually any of the existing communication technologies onboard fishing vessels, including: InmarSat, iridium, Skymate, Boatracs, GSM/GPRS, etc. Olfish-DDL can deploy different methods of report-authentication and protection. It can, if so requested, deploy an end-to-end transmission protocol that allows users to transmit secure XML reports, using X.509 digital certificates and W3C XML Security standards. Olfish-DDL digitally signs and encrypts XML reports before sending them to their authorities. Documents are signed using XML signatures and encrypted using hybrid XML Encryption. Olfish-DDL includes an administrative module for the creation and mailing of predefined fishing reports. These include agency compliance reports as defined by the EU regulations (EU 1966/2006 and EU 1566/2007), AFMA regulations and other management agencies. |
